The Playing Rules of a Roulette Game
The objective of the game of roulette is to guess where might the ball land on the wheel after every spin. This is not an easy task to do that is why luck is necessary to have in roulette. There are usually eight players at the roulette table and each one is playing against the house.
The croupier is responsible for spinning the roulette wheel, handling the bets, and paying out the winners. The wheel consists of 37 slots with numbers one to 36 and single zero. Most roulette wheels in US casinos have 38 slots with numbers one to 36, single zero, and double zero.
Players need to buy-in their cash chips at the roulette table with the colored chips that their bets will not get mixed up with the others. After your playing session, you need to exchange the colored chips with the cash chips before leaving the roulette table.
Before the croupier will spin the roulette wheel, all players must have placed their bets at the table layout. Players can still make their bets or move their bets even if the wheel is already spinning until the croupier will announce, "no more bets". That is the time that no one is allowed to touched the bets or place more bets at the table because if you do, you will be punished.
After the roulette wheel has stopped spinning and the result is already known, the croupier will place a marker on the winning number. The croupier then clears first all the losing bets from the table and then pays the winning bets. When the croupier has already lifted the marker from the winning number, you can now start placing your bets on the table for a new game to start.
For single zero roulette games, there is a 2.7% house advantage. For double zero roulette games, there is a 5.26% house advantage and on the five number bet, the house advantage is 7.9%. In comparison, it is much better to play at single zero roulette games because the house advantage is much lower.
